Board of Trustees
Naku te rourou nau te rourou ka ora ai te iwi.
With my food basket and your food basket, together we can feed the people.
With my skills and knowledge, and your skills and knowledge we can work together for the good of all.
We are fortunate to work in strong partnership with our Board of Trustees for the successful and strategic governance of our school. As a team, they have a diverse skill set and are committed to making this school a fantastic place to learn.
Chairperson
Kylie Rush
I have been a member of the Board of Trustees (BOT) since 2011. I started out as the BOT secretary, then was co-opted on to establish and look after the Fundraising Committee. Then since 2014, I have been involved in one-off projects. I am a trained Primary Teacher and hold a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning. Much of my time is spent helping on our family’s pipfruit orchard in Tasman. My husband Hamish and I have two children currently at the school, Jeremy & Sophie.

I have been on the Board for two years. I really love being involved with the School and
Community and hope I can help to make sure all students are offered the best
opportunities during their time at Tasman School. I have been the Chair on the Tasman
School Fundraising Association and still remain involved with fundraising events. My
husband Nick and I have two children at Tasman School – Emma and Olivia. The
girls love Tasman School and I appreciate the diversity of the teaching staff.
Nathan Ellis
I joined the Tasman BOT in mid 2017 to help provide an input to various projects and
maintenance that goes on within the school but have now also been learning about the
policies and administration that is required to run the school too. I work in aircraft maintenance at Air NZ where I have worked for 16 years, so between
these skills plus experience in quite a few DIY projects I feel I can provide a helpful skill set
to the BOT.
As a family, my talented wife Melanie works in Richmond and we have 2 children at
Tasman School, Declan in Room 6 and Matthew in Room 3. We moved up from
Christchurch 4 years ago and are very happy we have found such an awesome, friendly
community to be part of.
